Your Natal Chart & this New Moon
First thing first. If you want to know where New + Full Moons are occurring in your specific chart, you’ll need to pull your chart here if you don’t have it already. You can also learn much more about your Natal Chart through the Intro To Astro Course (included in this membership).
You’ll notice the numbers outside of the wheel. This is the degree of your House Cusps. Every sign has 30 degrees, 0 to 29. Like I mention in the Intro To Astro Course, I use Equal Houses, which means that every House Cusp is at the same degree.
This New Moon occurs at 13 Degrees Libra. If you have, let’s say, Libra on the 10th House Cusp at 20 Degrees, then this will fall in your 9th House. But if you have Libra on the 10th House Cusp at 5 Degrees, then this New Moon would actually fall in your 10th House.
This adds a layer of interpretation for how this New Moon will affect you personally.
Danielle’s New Moon in Libra Reflection
Truth is, I'll never know all there is to know about you just as you will never know all there is to know about me. Humans are by nature too complicated to be understood fully. So, we can choose either to approach our fellow human beings with suspicion or to approach them with an open mind, a dash of optimism and a great deal of candour.
-Tom Hanks
It is not our purpose to become each other; it is to recognize each other, to learn to see the other and honor him for what he is.
-Hermann Hesse
Whenever you're in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. That factor is attitude.
-William James
Libra is known for its graciousness and decorum. This is not a sign known to erupt in polite company or hurl insults across a table. It prefers a more harmonious atmosphere, one absent of strife. But, of course, life is complicated. People even more so. And there are often a whole host of feeling bubbling beneath the surface at any given moment. This New Moon, with Mars and Mercury Retrograde conjunct, ruler Venus in Scorpio and all five outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune + Pluto, which goes Direct later in the day) retrograde is a major review of the ways in which we do and do not connect, the mysteries and the unsaid lingering beneath the surface.
I wonder sometimes, in this frenetic, frenzied social media driven world of ours how interested we are, truly in connecting. I’m not talking about making contact. That we’re doing in droves. I’m talking about hearing, really listening, taking someone in, revealing ourselves. I’m talking about intimacy.
Libra is the mirror. Scorpio sees underneath. The Retrogrades have many rethinking, reworking, revisiting the past, retracing. What’s in front of us, right here and now? What and who is begging for our attention, while our eyes and appetites are drawn elsewhere? In other words, what have we been avoiding? Many are frustrated by the current impediments, feeling held back from advancing our plans, from forward momentum. This is the last stretch. Today, Pluto turns Direct, followed by Saturn on the 10th, Mercury and Jupiter on the 18th. This, too, shall pass. Things will progress. But before that, now, we can have the conversation, with ourselves, with the other. We can bridge the divide, sort out how to join hands or, if need be, part, the path revealing itself before us as the structural blockades recede.
Mars-Mercury has words, but it’s drive is towards togetherness. The anger can get sublimated, here. The tendency towards passive aggressiveness is strong.
Seeing the other, loving without sacrificing the self takes effort. These things do not just come, despite our egos insistence otherwise. Love isn’t just giving. It’s certainly not just receiving. It’s granting each party the dignity and honor of being seen, ourselves included. It’s not only seeing the mirror, it’s also seeing the other, fully fleshed and whole and then reaching through the divide.
How are you tending to your relationships?
AFFIRMATION (S)
I am navigating the art of relating with grace and an open heart
JOURNAL PROMPTS
How do I relate to others? Meaning, how do I experience the art of relating?
Do I allow myself to be discovered? Do I share myself with others? Do I try to control the conversation?
Do I “see” the people I am close to? Do I try to understand where they are coming from?
What, if anything, have I been “reviewing” or “rethinking” during all of these retrogrades?
What, if anything, needs addressing in my life?
Do I know why I’ve been avoiding the conversation?
Can I give this “avoidance” a voice? What does it have to say?
What is there to learn here?
How can I support myself in saying what I need to say and/or hearing what I need to hear?
How can I continue to engage in the art of relating in a healthy, supportive manner?
SETTING INTENTIONS
Intentions differ from goals. While goals are action oriented, intentions express how we want to experience our goals. This heightens their power. For example, we may have a goal of reaching a certain weight, but the weight is simply a number. An intention grants us more agency. I always recommend starting an intention with some variation of “I am gracefully finding myself…” For example, “I am gracefully finding myself feeling lean, flexible, healthy and fit. I am gracefully finding myself loving the way my body feels and my clothes fit.” And because Spirit /The Universe/God is so much wiser and intelligent than we are, I also always include “This Or Something Better For The Highest Good Of All Concerned,” something I learned in my training. This allows us a deeper level of trust and surrender.
