Your Natal Chart & this Solar Eclipse in Cancer
First thing first. If you want to know where New + Full Moons are occurring in your specific chart, you’ll need to pull your chart here if you don’t have it already. You can also learn much more about your Natal Chart through the Intro To Astro Course (included in this membership).
You’ll notice the numbers outside of the wheel. This is the degree of your House Cusps. Every sign has 30 degrees, 0 to 29. Like I mention in the Intro To Astro Course, I use Equal Houses, which means that every House Cusp is at the same degree.
This New Moon occurs at 18 Degrees Cancer. If you have, let’s say, Cancer on the 10th House Cusp at 25 Degrees, then this will fall in your 9th House. But if you have Cancer on the 10th House Cusp at 5 Degrees, then this New Moon would actually fall in your 10th House.
This adds a layer of interpretation for how this New Moon will affect you personally.
Danielle’s New Moon in Cancer Reflection
“It's tremendous what can happen when suddenly you make an emotional connection.”
Cancer is the emotional glue of the Zodiac, setting the temperature with its lunar moods. Cancer feels, it needs, it connects. This New Moon is supported by mystical Neptune in Pisces and opposed by transformative Pluto in Capricorn. The shadow is there, but it’s there to be healed and transcended.
We need one another. Our cellular rhythms are informed by those we’re close to. Emotions ricochet, yes. But this doesn’t mean we’re meant to isolate, or seek complete and total independence. We can feel who we feel safe with. Do we trust and honor this?
There is a line in Michael Cunningham’s The Hours (it’s in the film, too) that has always stuck with me: “That is what we do. That is what people do. They stay alive for each other.”
For all of our ambitions, and drives and hopes, desires and dreams, it is our deepest connections that sustain us. But it’s also our every day interactions that shape our reality. It’s the emotional energy we exchange, at every level, that sets the tone of our lives.
This New Moon is a re-centering, a grounding in our emotional bodies. There may be some stickiness that needs to be acknowledged and brought into the light.
The past couple of weeks have seen sparks. Mars and then Venus (both in Leo) got caught in the crossfires of taskmaster Saturn and change maker Uranus. Our motivations and desires were met with frustration, road blocks and/or unexpected turns.
Now we’re starting anew.
Our nervous system tells our story. We hold our traumas, our hurts, our sorrows, our joys and hopes in our fascia, our muscles, our bones. In other words, our body is a map. But it’s not set in stone. It’s fluid and ever evolving. We can heal our triggers. We can write a new story.
Where we come from isn’t where we’re going. And what got us here won’t necessarily get us there. But we also can’t erase our past. It’s part of us. As is every interaction. It’s how we grow and learn. It’s how we evolve.
if it is true that we stay alive for one another, that, at the end of the day, our lives come down to those we love and those we’ve impacted, what is our intention for these things?
They say our energy announces us far before our voices do. How do we want to show up emotionally? How do we want to feel? How do we want to make others feel in our presence?
It isn’t about control or forcing an image or facade. It isn’t about being saccharine or false. It’s about connection. The ones we experience throughout our days.
Are we acknowledging just how much we need one another? And how much our lives are enriched by that need?

JOURNAL PROMPTS
What are the most meaningful relationships in my life?
What are the state of these relationships?
Are there shadow elements present that are not being addressed? If so, what are they?
How can I address these elements in a purposeful, healthy manner? Whether within myself or through open and honest conversation and dialogue?
How can I support myself in prioritizing my most meaningful relationships and deepening my connection to those I love?
SETTING INTENTIONS
Intentions differ from goals. While goals are action oriented, intentions express how we want to experience our goals. This heightens their power. For example, we may have a goal of reaching a certain weight, but the weight is simply a number. An intention grants us more agency. I always recommend starting an intention with some variation of “I am gracefully finding myself…” For example, “I am gracefully finding myself feeling lean, flexible, healthy and fit. I am gracefully finding myself loving the way my body feels and my clothes fit.” And because Spirit /The Universe/God is so much wiser and intelligent than we are, I also always include “This Or Something Better For The Highest Good Of All Concerned,” something I learned in my training. This allows us a deeper level of trust and surrender.
