Your Natal Chart & this New Moon
First thing first. If you want to know where New + Full Moons are occurring in your specific chart, you’ll need to pull your chart here if you don’t have it already. You can also learn much more about your Natal Chart through the Intro To Astro Course (included in this membership).
You’ll notice the numbers outside of the wheel. This is the degree of your House Cusps. Every sign has 30 degrees, 0 to 29. Like I mention in the Intro To Astro Course, I use Equal Houses, which means that every House Cusp is at the same degree.
This New Moon occurs at 12 Degrees Scorpio. If you have, let’s say, Scorpio on the 10th House Cusp at 5 Degrees, then this will fall in your 10th House. But if you have Scorpio on the 10th House Cusp at 5 Degrees, then this New Moon would actually fall in your 9th House.
This adds a layer of interpretation for how this New Moon will affect you personally.
Danielle’s New Moon in Scorpio Reflection
This New Moon reminds me of a Caroline Myss talk I once listened to. She was describing the ways in which the Universe will attempt to wake us from our slumber. She employed the example of an unfulfilling job. One day, she metaphorically joked, we may arrive to a missing chair, then computer, and so on until the desk is just completely gone and there is no position for us there at all.
Oprah has referred to this as whispers before a shout.
Are we listening to that still small voice within? Because the more we ignore it, the louder the echoes become.
This New Moon is the entryway to Eclipse Season, but it has a curveball all its own.
The Sun and Moon are conjoined in seductive, mysterious Scorpio. Mars, also in the sign, is also loosely conjunct. Uranus opposes the Sun and Moon exactly. Uranus, the great rebel and change maker, the innovator. Saturn squares it all. Expect the unexpected, as the saying goes, but there is Karma (Saturn) involved. Uranus is swift. The wake up call is clear. That proverbial desk may be gone. We may be thrown something we never anticipated. But the answer is in the Saturn backbone.
There are several ways to approach energy like this. We can catastrophize and fear it or we can embrace it, recognizing the Universe may be doing something for us, we haven’t quite been able to do for ourselves. After all, not making a decision is a decision in itself. We’ve analyzed and clarified our situation in Virgo Season, seen it from both sides in Libra and are now down to the energetic core in Scorpio and the upcoming Eclipse Season. And by the way, not everything has to be dramatic. It can be a pebble in size, but have lasting ripple effects. It can be the way in which we view or perceive a situation.
Scorpio has an all or nothing attitude about it. Full invested or not at all. It can give and give and give and, then, just like that, freeze out. Fixed Water, after all, is ice. This is the precision of a surgeon’s knife. What, if anything, needs to change? What, if anything, needs to go?
AFFIRMATION (S)
I allow myself to transform. I allow life to move through me
JOURNAL PROMPTS
What is most pressing issue in my life right now?
What is underneath this issue? What energy? Meaning, what is the trigger that’s coming up to be healed?
Can I connect it to a greater web of issues in my life? Why or why not?
What in this issue, dynamic or pattern needs updating, innovating or change?
Often we need to take action in order for things to change, but sometimes we actually just need to get very quiet and very still and sit in an energetic pause and heal/ clear subconscious blocks. Doing so can, as if by magic, rearrange our external circumstances, since so much of our outer experience is a reflection of unhealed or unresolved material lodged in our psyche. This isn’t because anything is our fault. It’s because we’re all here on Earth with our unique curriculum and life presents external material for us to work through. Given this understanding, can I see how I may be contributing to stale dynamics through my perspective or actions?
How can I support myself in seeing things through a soul perspective in service to myself (and actually others, too)?
SETTING INTENTIONS
Intentions differ from goals. While goals are action oriented, intentions express how we want to experience our goals. This heightens their power. For example, we may have a goal of reaching a certain weight, but the weight is simply a number. An intention grants us more agency. I always recommend starting an intention with some variation of “I am gracefully finding myself…” For example, “I am gracefully finding myself feeling lean, flexible, healthy and fit. I am gracefully finding myself loving the way my body feels and my clothes fit.” And because Spirit /The Universe/God is so much wiser and intelligent than we are, I also always include “This Or Something Better For The Highest Good Of All Concerned,” something I learned in my training. This allows us a deeper level of trust and surrender.
